but it is *not OK* to hell-ban or signal attenuate legit people with NO APPEAL and NO HUMAN and no notification! Think of what that is doing! Who is going to trust the media if their own efforts to communicate are being muffled?

SIGH. He's not being banned. Ding doesn't use the word "coronavirus." He uses the specific designation "COVID19", because that's the hashtag for the specific disease. Look what happens when you switch those terms.pic.twitter.com/CPDsgpmBRY

Twitter can't search for words someone doesn't use. And Ding—and I CAN'T believe I'm saying this—knows enough to know that coronavirus describes a kind of virus, not a specific outbreak/virus.pic.twitter.com/o2CZMUq7TW

Moreover, the way Twitter's search function works, as I understand it, is that it doesn't look at link thumbnails. So while some of the links he posts are to articles with "coronavirus" in them, Twitter can't "see" that information.

Eric Feigl-Ding is a fearmonger and a grifter, and I think he's a menace to society. But I respect him enough to know that he knows the difference between coronaviruses (which include the common cold), and COVID19 specifically. That's what's happening here.

Just tell me what he lied about and I will look into it. I promise that if he IS lying to anyone I will make corrections on the information. Covid19 or as many people just call it "coronavirus" (I know it's a family) is ripping through the world at an alarming rate.

I mean, I'm getting on a flight so I'll respond more completely when I'm back on the ground, but the big two were 1) his HOLY MOTHER OF GOD tweets, which every expert scientist on this topic took to be absolutely out of line—even now, but absolutely then.https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2020/01/china-coronavirus-twitter/605644/ …

You didn't tell me what he lied about. This is just some article that has nothing to do with him. I will look into any direct claims you make but you need to tell me specifically what he has lied about or I can't do that.

Second one would have been the infamous "holy mother of God" tweet that he eventually deleted because anyone who looked it up realized the r_0 of even 3.8 is — while nothing to be sneezed at heheheh — still much lower than herpes zoster (chickenpox) at 10-12, measles ≤ 18

this is missing the point. we have no immunity to this and it is quite deadly.
it was clear from ~Jan 23rd here that there were reports of asymptomatic transmission.
This would make the virus
