Link? Filling a sports stadium with symptomatic people seems diametrically opposite healthy public health practice! So if true, reinforces my suspicion fumbled overreaction is making things worse. …

mildly symptomatic. It is called triage. they need to reserve hospitals for the really sick. This is only happening in Wuhan, so far!https://twitter.com/edodriscoll/status/1229896097881034752?s=21 …

That's a gym, not a "sports stadium filled". Was your earlier claim an embellishment based on panicked rumors? People with mild symptoms shouldn't be congregated like that. Some just have colds, others may have mild #COVID19 – no reason to give them each others' illnesses!

what? the distinction is unimportant. this is but one such facility of many. if you do not have the hospital beds you do what you can. this is the clue to you that Wuhan is much further along than other Chinese cities and this isnt some “hiding in the flu” BS

Photos of unclear sourcing are weak clues during a freak-out; I trust numbers (& have higher trust for non-China numbers). The distinctions between severity, & actual diseases present, are all-important in sussing out what's actually happening.pic.twitter.com/4vt1sd6o4H

there are 9000+ confirmed cases *in serious or critical condition* in one city and well over 2000 deaths so far. These are/were novel corona virus patients with pneumonia. You are seriousiy out of touch if you think this is either the same in many cities, or untrue.

China's last reported death count, as of a couple hours ago, was 2004, which isn't "well over 2000". You seem prone to embellishment in your current panic/fugue. Let's check back in in 2021 when more reliable stats about the outbreak, & the CPC's response, are available.

The death toll is absolutely understated. The infectious count, by the same conservative skepticsm, is under counting. Your unbearable credulity is off the charts. You cherry pick one china number as exact but then pretend they are lying about few cases in Beijing or Shanghai.

Deaths might be underreported! But other factors, like covering up collateral damage from overreaction, or justifying oppressive response, or confusion about deaths in an overworked system, could also cause overreporting. Let's check back, in 2021 & see who was credulous.

I think every reasonable guesstimate I’ve done on whether western medical systems would get overwhelmed with this virus keep turning up “yes” but it’s too qualitative for publishing; I want to build an interactive model to explore if medical systems are overwhelmed. and share it
