Yes, the receptor (which is actually a secreted protein, not a receptor in the usual surface marker sense) is predominantly expressed (produced) in the gut, and may have roles in vascular permeability and the like. It relates to metabolizing angiotensin (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angiotensin …)

It’s also produced in vasculature of all kinds. My current hypothesis is that ACE2, being a soluble protein, forms a corona around the
#coronavirus (no punintended), leading to to making the virus shield itself and present a bit more like something endogenous.3 replies 5 retweets 7 likes -
Andre. Surely that’s more dangerous ? A sort of ‘Trojan horse’. I am not medically trained but I understand that bat borne viruses are very robust whether this came from senator connors Wuhan lab buy accident or not or through ‘bat soup’. Doesn’t matter. It’s an issue to fix.

At this point it’s speculation, but this could have something to do with the stealth and slow development of this virus. If it embeds itself in the mucus and vascular beds of the gut and other tissues, it may be able to promote immune evasion through systemic immune surveillance.

I know it’s just a ‘mathematical model’ btw

This game should be compulsory playing for everyone who says “only 500 international cases lol”

Lol. I know it’s just a game but it does make you think. I’ve killed us all on the hardest rating so I hope you and the medical community are better than the AI lol.

Me too. My favorite simulation is when you start it in one country, saturate the population, and then make it transmit to other countries. At first there is lag in the international cases and then it blows up. Relevant for this disease and thinking about exponential timelines.

So we have all walked a mile in ncov19s shoes in game ? Doesn’t that give us an edge ? Lol if only this was just Tetris in real life lol

Honestly might have a better understanding of epidemiology if you’ve played Plague than most people running the world...

What is http://plague.inc ? Is it supposed to be an accurate representation based on actual data of what could happen?
