this is a profoundly stupid statement, and they are not stupid. this must only mean that Singapore has faced the inevitable — this is uncontrollable. They want little blame for what happens next. Unacceptable. Singapore must use its world-class health system to show the world.https://twitter.com/jonst0kes/status/1226710916374421504 …

@jonst0kes prelim analysis from@AdamJKucharski et al notes contact tracing is key: "percentage of contacts traced is critical to achieving control in all scenarios" SG notes 0.2% ex-Hubei mortality rate, have you seen any more data or research on that? https://cmmid.github.io/ncov/isolation_contact_tracing/ …4 replies 0 retweets 1 like -
this is a terrible mistake. The case histories are *clearly* backloaded. With a variable incubation period of perhaps 1-14 days and 27 days since it took the otherwise healthy Li Wenliang to die, that would impose a month-long or more lag on the measurement of lethal cases.

@avatorl@balajis Found text, math error: "new virus, outside of Hubei province, the mortality rate is so far only 0.2 per cent. In comparison, seasonal influenza has a death rate of 0.1 per cent. So in terms of mortality, the new virus is much closer to influenza than Sars"1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

"If we still hospitalise and isolate every suspect case, our hospitals will be overwhelmed. " notable point indicating lack of capacity in healthcare system
