this is a profoundly stupid statement, and they are not stupid. this must only mean that Singapore has faced the inevitable — this is uncontrollable. They want little blame for what happens next. Unacceptable. Singapore must use its world-class health system to show the world.https://twitter.com/jonst0kes/status/1226710916374421504 …

@jonst0kes prelim analysis from@AdamJKucharski et al notes contact tracing is key: "percentage of contacts traced is critical to achieving control in all scenarios" SG notes 0.2% ex-Hubei mortality rate, have you seen any more data or research on that? https://cmmid.github.io/ncov/isolation_contact_tracing/ …4 replies 0 retweets 1 like -
see this for an exploration of one of the best traced case histories. using the lethality data for “cases outside of China” is horribly downward biased. https://youtu.be/IaIjwvjBwqg people die at the end of the disease. if they are otherwise healthy, that could be a month!

yes on same page with you; surprising to see them cite 0.2% and giving up so quickly -- wanted to see where they had gotten that number 0.2% from
@avatorl has a good post on why the numbers are downward biased in a fast growing epidemic scenario http://avatorl.org/en/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-fatality-rate-who-and-media-vs-reality/ …1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes
SG attitude is horribly, horribly mistaken. I’m stunned.
I think activists should make it a priority to counteract infohazard of “low lethality outside of China.”
math mistake could kill millions.
Whether or not SG wants to give up, others should know it is a timebomb
