Reading this (which I can corroborate some of in my Feb 6th flight PDX->NWK->YHZ) we are very much underprepared. At immigration, only one question, have you been to Wuhan in the past 14days. Should be: China, HK, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, Etc.

Should provide pamphlets which show potential case histories: dry cough, 1st day, low fever/fatigue, second day, and then worsening / improving progression in 2nd week, and then a critical period for severe cases in 3rd week. Should strongly discourage smoking!

This issue of the vitality of communications also shows that traditional PR response models are inadequate to deal with a situation like this. The old “tell them it’s fine and walk away” model doesn’t work in todays world.
