who knows what makes one meme get picked up at a certain time or not, I have been tweeting about this for days. Coronavirus is actually big enough to get caught in a good HEPA filter (400nm-500nm), though TSLAQ folks thought it was smaller and claimed leaks made it moot.https://twitter.com/wolfejosh/status/1225857007934230532 …
No, it can definitely get in aerosol form, tiny droplets in the air, that’s what aerosol means; it could be from coughing, sneezing, even flushing a toilet. But, there are no indications it’s like a cloud of infectious air like Ebola, it seems to settle and survive on surfaces

Ship AC seems like a super probable transmission vector. I do not know what they are doing to mitigate this

I can’t see why anything that is liquid in a cough can’t be an aerosol medium on ship or plane a/c. As long as it is robust they are excellent incubators.

I asked because reports insist it requires ‘intimate’ contact - I cough on you etc. I always suspected that sneezing perhaps even breath could make it airborne and more transferable. Can I ask your professional background ? I’m more an engineer n seek factual data on this

Intimate exposure is probably what drives much of the epidemic, but there’s clear evidence of other transmission chains and coronaviruses living for a long time on surfaces. Look at what the China is doing: daily spraying of an unknown chemical. They are disinfecting surfaces.

Reports from Germany suggest it can persist for up to 9 days on a surface, averaging 3-5
