In all fairness, that was before people were raising $1mil pre-seed rounds. Users expect a much high level of MVP than 10 years ago
I disagree. If you can't get users to flock to a utilitarian website, they won't flock to a beautiful one.
I was trying to articulate that I’m observing that customers expect more feature complete MVPs than they did 10 years ago. Do you disagree with this? Seems like a lot of companies are raising so they can spend longer building before launch.
It depends how crowded the market is. If you're entering a crowded market, you need a polished MVP. In a new market, anything that works is good enough. More SaaS markets are crowded than 10 years ago, so your observation is true. But the biggest wins are in un-crowded markets.
Any tips you give for finding markets with a low amount of competition, so founders can release products faster?
