What I think is most important about the Iowa screw-up is the Democrats whose fingerprints are all over the failed reporting app are *specifically the same Democrats whose whole pitch for their faction is that they're the competent, technocratic adults who can do logistics*

The Shadow firm itself is full of ex-Hillary people Buttigieg contracted the same company Robby Mook trained the Iowa parties in "worst case scenarios" (did it help?) David Plouffe is *on the board* of the NPO that (partially?) owns Shadow, *yet knew nothing about its activities*pic.twitter.com/lnmEaiwi96

So everyone's defending this crowd by arguing they're just incompetent, and— wait, that's not a defense! "We have an addition to unnecessary tech we don't even know how to make work" isn't a defense! It makes them look terrible! Why are these dudes running all the Dem campaigns?

"Shadow" isn't evidence of intentional sabotage. What it *is* is evidence the Democrats at every level are in a stranglehold of an unelected consultant-ocracy that aren't especially competent & take their broken groupthink to every job, and we should be *just as angry* about that

Never mind sabotage. I wanna hear about *due diligence*! I wanna know how Shadow and Robby Mook were selected. I wanna know if they talked to experts or just their good-old-boys network. I wanna know if it was a conflict of interest Shadow served Iowa dems and Buttigieg at once.

at some point, the democrats are going to have to get some good people behind this, and have to care about execution / winning more than looking competent via supposed oversight. Oversight hardly works! It's barely a protection against corruption. No substitution for execution.
