Hi Trevor! The basic idea is to unspool a ribbon of high temperature superconductor into a simple ring, along with an integrated sun & planetshade + a little solar. The darkness passively supercools, the panel drives a simple dipole field. = way more plasma confinement, cheap.

you have to use an aneutronic fuel system like D-He3 or D-D or P-B11, so that you can direct the power out as charged particles, and so that neutrons don't heat your coil or radiator.
