actually, i think it’s important for the “cognophysics” (or whatever) that we’re in our bodies in the physical world. i think of this a lot when i play keyboard / piano, my hands know things that my ears will be delighted and surprised by. our sense of selves is distributed

takes approx. equal time for light to circum. earth (133ms) as takes a neural signal to travel from retina -> occipital lobe -> frontal cortex in ~70ms, response in another ~70ms). latency without coherence implies diffuse selves. consciousness is a special kind of coherence
