Yeah, that’s the link I quoted earlier — maybe you didn’t see it. It’s about 200 GtC at maturity, productivity is similar to human emissions during growth periods

Right, I missed that the first time… but that wouldn’t cover actually reducing the existing carbon load as well as offsetting the annual additive load, right? Esp. if you had to keep repeating it when the wood decomposed?

that’s a very good question, worth futher study. i think this version of the future, if possible, does require scale breakthroughs in sustainable forestry and construction efficiency: current sawnwood and wood panel products are ~900 million tons / year, ~1/30th of CO2 emissions
