    This evening I spoke on about volunteers filling staff shortages in public services. Volunteers do great job, but mustn't be used to sub for trained professionals - no going back to Cameron's failed big society.

  8. I have heard from many constituents about the noise, pollution + disruption that HGVs are causing by driving through Cambridge at night while the A14 is closed for its upgrade. I urged the Transport Minister to fix the problem!

  11. When I asked the Rail Minister, again, about the continuing misery for Cambridge residents on the trains, he said, again, we should wait it out. The GTR franchise is just the Great Train Robbery. Enough is enough!

  16. The continues. The government's white paper, published today, says Govt 'wants to explore association in [EU] research programmes'. The Prime Minister previously mentioned influence in these; this proposal disappointingly lacks ambition + will damage UK research.
