What's particularly satisfying is being able to vertically integrate the entire stack towards a single outcome, and seeing it click into place. When I worked at BigCo™, I was so constrained to a single abstraction level it felt like straightjacket.

I imagine this isn't unique to being an indie developer, more so with it being a small company and/or being a cofounder, but this is all I can speak to.
