it could just be my particular youtube algorithm feeding me, but it feels like there's a big rise in videos were you just watch someone do <activity> start to finish. in past years everything became 'story telling' and I wonder if we're a bit story'd out now
I think it’s a real trend. Part of it, is guess, is that it feels more honest (?). Less frantic. The YouTube video style had so many quick edits and movement and can be exhausting.

could be that too, coincides with the era of massive inauthenticity in playing authentic. hard to fake it if you never actually speak, if all you have is woodworking and royalty free jazz
