Have been noticing lately how the throwaway, friendly jabs we give each other really add up over time. Feeling less confident and more self-doubt recently because of little things people said, which likely didn’t even register for them.

And I think I get it more because I give it. So I’ve been trying to be mindful of it. Even little things like giving a friend a (joking) hard time for having other plans, instead of enthusiasm for their other plans, can grow a complex. Wonder if it’s just me feeling this.

Yeah! Totally! That’s exactly what it is. It does a psychological backflip on you and can mess you up.
