These VC funds marketed as “for bootstrappers” is an interesting trend. Conceptually I get the idea, but giving up a non-trivial percentage of your business for low six figure investment is the opposite of what I’d consider “bootstrapping” I guess it’s just semantics?

Get that money. It’s great and might make things easier or less stressful. The slow increments of bootstrapping can be frustrating af, and for a lot of markets a nice cash influx up front opens up a lot of opportunity I suspect.

Currently in year 6 of bootstrapping a business and I’m glad we don’t have a 15% equity partner in exchange for money 5 years ago!

Exactly what I’ve been thinking too. It’s tempting at the stage we’re at but in a year I doubt it.
