Will someone explain why, when the Saudis disposed of Nimr al-Nimr, almost no one in the West cared, whereas there's a mega-furor over @JKhashoggi? They were both totalitarian #Islamists murdered by the identical regime. Is the key living in DC & writing for the @WashingtonPost?

People cared about al-Nimr, and there was coverage. However, he was not considered a journalist, and was arrested and prosecuted in Saudi Arabia, as opposed to being abducted (and murdered) in a foreign country (a NATO ally at that).

Khashoggi is an known Brotherhood guy, and he personally said that Osama Bin Laden was his “friend”. I don’t know how he was allowed in the U.S. to begin with.

Morning Joe just now: That, and he was a permanent resident of the US with a green card application in play. He was also apparently widely liked in Washington circles. The fact that he was an openly an Islamist and supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood is evidently insignificant

Not insignificant; Significant! Must be the reason why he was popular with the Left leaning media who have always had a soft spot for terrorists and genociders.

In 2014, when Nimr was executed, the KSA wasn't so friendly (relatively) with Israel. Now, the moonbats (esp. in Canada), are disenchanted with the KSA.
