So you can either install https://builds.copperhead.co/builds/Updater.apk … as an app upgrade to do it over-the-air, or sideload the new update via adb sideload.
If you installed an early Nougat release, you'll need to install an Updater.apk upgrade before it will let you do an over-the-air upgrade.

Note that this issue is resolved in the current Nougat release, and all of the other non-trivial known issues have also been resolved.

If you did not install a Nougat release from before today's release with the security update, then everything is fine. Can already upgrade.

Ironically, the reason for this is https://twitter.com/CopperheadOS/status/773382865430188032 … combined with lack of resources to test the full update process for each release.
