Pictures of Charlie from yesterday. We met the litter of 7 puppies on Tuesday, again on Friday and then brought her back on Saturday. Smallest of the litter and the most social/playful by far. 10 weeks old but she's still tiny (6.4kg). Her mom is only 25kg. She might be smaller.
Puppy lying on deck in the backyard with her side against one of the deck chairs she likes. Pulling at the frayed end of a bird-shaped rope toy using her mouth with one of her paws holding the rope.
Puppy lying down on her side asleep on top of an orange blanket on top of the ceramic kitchen floor. She has her head over top of a stuffed duck with an orange ball she inherited nearby.
Puppy underneath one of the deck chairs (same one as the earlier picture) with her chin on the crossbar between the legs. Staring intently at the person holding the camera. Orange ball nearby.
Puppy lying down on top of damp towels on a thin bed after getting a bath. Has her head in the sun and another stuffed duck (different one from before) nearby. Not asleep, but has her eyes partly closed. Looks very happy and relaxed.

We saw the 7 puppies Tuesday, again Friday before bringing Charlie home Saturday. The woman breeding them cares deeply about them so she made sure they're each going to a good home and chose where each would go based on personality. Charlie's grandmother is her own guide dog.

Video above is Charlie playing with a stuffed duck on the patch of porous synthetic grass we put over wood chips. So far she hasn't pooped inside, only on the synthetic grass, and she got a lot of praise so she fully gets that already. Too young to hold in pee perfectly though.

Bred as service animals which means being calm, obedient and very smart. Wasn't scared of hour long car ride or all the noises out back. Highly social (very determined to bite/lick face of everyone she meets) and very vocal with barks/whines. Great at causing lots of mischief.

It's a golden retriever bred from European service dog lines. They just happen to be very light cream color. Dad is Vlad from Odessa, Ukraine. Dad is a bit darker than mom but they mostly got color from their mom. Breeder owns grandmother on mom's side and dad so we met both.
