Russians just don't have the manpower for this type of war and Putin does not want to risk a general mobilisation espeically not in in the richer ethnic russian areas of Russia.

Russia is free to leave Ukraine including the Donbass and Crimea at any time. Time is on Ukraine's side and they're strongly against giving up any of their land.
Putin hasn't mobilized Russia's population because he knows it would be the end of their current political system.

That's flimsy Russian propaganda. Russia is using the people who supposedly support them as cannon fodder. Faked referendums don't mean anything. Russian speakers in Ukraine who consider themselves ethnically Russian almost entirely hate Russia due to the invasion. You're wrong.

What's verified is that Russia faked referendums, destroyed their quality of life and used them as cannon fodder. Russian speaking Ukrainians hate Russia. Also, deporting people from a region and moving your own people there is genocide. It was genocide when the USSR did it too.

Russia is destroying their own future. Skilled / smart Russians are leaving the country. Many of their young people are dying. The economy is dying. Huge parts of the world will despise them for years. Ukrainians will despise them for decades. Future Russians will despise Putin.
