Russians just don't have the manpower for this type of war and Putin does not want to risk a general mobilisation espeically not in in the richer ethnic russian areas of Russia.

Russia is free to leave Ukraine including the Donbass and Crimea at any time. Time is on Ukraine's side and they're strongly against giving up any of their land. Putin hasn't mobilized Russia's population because he knows it would be the end of their current political system.

That's flimsy Russian propaganda. Russia is using the people who supposedly support them as cannon fodder. Faked referendums don't mean anything. Russian speakers in Ukraine who consider themselves ethnically Russian almost entirely hate Russia due to the invasion. You're wrong.

Russia's invasion of Afghanistan ended the USSR. Russia's invasion of Ukraine will end the Russian Federation given enough time inflicting damage on themselves from it. You think things will go smoothly when Putin dies in a couple years after running an empire into the ground?
