Very disappointing to see someone I followed tone policing a frequent victim of harassment. Not a good look Shawn. 😔

I wonder, perhaps, if there's a better way to articulate a given position without resorting to ad hominem attacks.

Not my intent. My intent was to convey that I've found in my short life on this earth, phrases like "you're full of shit" do not convince others of the merits of an opposing viewpoint. Perhaps there's a more effective way to convince others.

To clarify: I wanted to convey that using "you're full of shit" is not efficacious in convincing someone of an opposing viewpoint. My comment was about the *efficacy* of such a statement, not the statement itself.

He is full of shit. He was repeatedly raising strawman arguments over and over again while completely misrepresenting what I'd said. He was responding to stuff I never said, ignoring the facts and ignoring what I'd actually said because he wasn't capable of a fair debate.

I'm 100% capable of engaging in a debate with someone based on the facts. If they're going to thoroughly underhanded and manipulative in a debate with me, I don't see a reason to me polite to them. I called him out in the first place for his strawman arguments on his timeline.

To me, it felt the conversation was heated in such a way as to more firmly plant each person in their own position. I'm sorry that I butted into the conversation. I realize now that I should either have looked on or used other avenues to convey my thoughts.
