I don't see how you can consider it a mistake to block LGBTQ content by using block lists provided by a group which classifies it as inappropriate adult content and therefore gets everyone subscribing to their services such as schools to block that content as porn when it isn't.

Cloudflare didn't mistakenly choose to use a service provided by those people. They also make it seem as if they did extensive testing and put a lot of thought into what gets filtered. LGBTQ content was almost entirely filtered out, and a lot still gets filtered out 'by mistake'.

On the other hand, while the SafeSearch service they claim to be emulating obviously filters out sites like Kiwi Farms and the Daily Stormer, Cloudflare's service does not, even after it was reported to them repeatedly. It's a deliberate choice. No 'conspiracy theories' here.

Okay, so you don't acknowledge that sourcing content blocking lists from a far right evangelical group is a problem and is why the content not only got almost entirely filtered out at launch but is still often being filtered out today 'by mistake'. Again, you're disingenuous.

Cloudflare is 100% aware that they're using biased sources of block lists which are blocking content that Cloudflare supposedly doesn't want to block. They're also 100% aware that Kiwi Farms, Daily Stormer and other nazi sites are NOT filtered by their 1.1.1.3 service by design.

As I've clearly stated above, Cloudflare has not fixed the problem. LGBTQ is still being blocked because far right evangelical organizations are not an unbiased source to obtain block lists for porn. Cloudflare is aware of the bias and is still using those block lists as sources.

As has been clearly explained, what happened hardly qualifies as a mistake when you actually know why it happened. Their own block post admits to why it happened: they use sources which consider all LGBTQ content to be porn by default, and had to opt-out of that subset of it.

They are STILL blocking a lot of that content. It is not fixed. At the same time, Cloudflare is not blocking Kiwi Farms and literal nazi sites like the Daily Stormer as adult content. Their definition of adult content literally comes from far right and does not match SafeSearch.
