so is finally dumping me as a customer (the data center my instance is in is shutting down and the new floor for instances is ~$300/mo). what’s the best option nowadays for reasonably priced, low spec bare metal hosting suitable for running a personal mail server?

forgot to mention that datacenter in the US is also a requirement as don’t really want my personal email crossing international borders unnecessarily

well, looks like ’s IP space is trashed because they don’t respond to abuse contacts. seriously, I could really use a provider suggestion for my personal email server

IPv4 space is recycled in general. We bought floating IPv4 addresses on OVH and dealt with getting the one we use for our mail server removed from a bunch of blacklists. The hardest one by far was Microsoft's Outlook IP blacklist so ideally start with one that's not on that list.

Ignore uceprotect.net. It's an extortion scam and hardly anyone uses it. Every legitimate blacklist will make an exception for your /32 address within an /24 space they've blacklisted. Most of them have relatively easy processes for getting removed other than Microsoft.
Don't really think the issue is that they're worse at handling abuse than say AWS. People choose OVH to send spam because it's cost efficient. Platforms like AWS, GCP and Azure are extremely far from cost efficient. Some spammers still pay the premium for less blacklisted IPs.

I’ll give it a try, but the internet is full of complaints from other ISPs about OVH ignoring abuse quests. Never had an issue on Packet, but alas since the acquisition Equinix has made it clear that they don’t want to have a low-cost offering either.
