Thread on Cloudflare. TL;DR: if you're like Cloudflare, and regularly block LGBT sites, sex work sites, adult content, and other completely legal speech, but traffic far-right hate speech, you're not pro-free speech. You're pushing an agenda, but don't have the balls to admit it.

Cloudflare drops sites from their service on a daily basis for having content they dislike. They remove sites with adult content, support for sex workers, etc. They also drop sites they deem to be posting spam. Cloudflare's censored 1.1.1.3 DNS blocks lots of LGBT content, etc.

I posted about 2 alternatives at twitter.com/DanielMicay/st. There are plenty of other Cloudflare-like DDoS / pull-based CDN services and also push-based CDN services. I don't think most people need those services though. They'd be fine hosting stuff with OVH and nice managed DNS.

One of Cloudflare's major sources of revenue is DNS-based load balancing with a metered pricing model. rage4.com is an easy to use unmetered alternative. Despite being from a tiny company, they have a great anycast network and rank well on dnsperf.com.
