A new set of hosting providers to talk to. As of 3 days ago, Joshua Moon wised up and made flowchemical dot com dot au's abuse email address stop bouncing, it's now CNAMEd to the same host he uses for the rest of his email: lolcow dot email. registered by Cloudflare ofc.

Can put arbitrary TCP/UDP services behind Cloudflare Spectrum and send outbound emails through a relay to avoid leaking IP but they aren't technical enough to set it up. It's only on paid plans and has extremely low (5GB/10GB per month) bandwidth included with $1/GB beyond it.

It'd be hilarious if they did because they'd go bankrupt from it. Metered services are awful esp. with attacks and almost everything Cloudflare offers other than their caching reverse web content proxy is an expensive metered service (load balancing, video/audio, TCP/UDP proxy).

Reference for Spectrum billing: support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/artic So for example if someone sent them 2TB of data it would cost them $2000. Supposedly Cloudflare won't bill you for attack traffic but that's a fantasy. Good luck trying to get bills cancelled by arguing it's all attacks.

Cloudflare's price tiers and metering are so ridiculously arbitrary. TCP and *especially* UDP proxying is more lightweight than a web proxy for dynamic content. Business model is based around load balancing (with or without proxy) being metered + Enterprise tier feature gating.
