if true, this thread has scary implications for anyone who contributes to open source privacy software. basically you can be arrested if criminals use it and the authorities can’t figure out who else to arrest.

I think the problem here is crypto has led to a massive amount of harm by people who... at beast are ****ing clueless how damaging their actions can be. It's possible that Tornado Cash developers were too stupid to realize what they created... (cont.)

That's a rough one, though I would argue monetary assets are treated *very* differently in international law than... really anything else. Generally sending data doesn't require KYC/AML.
