As always, thanks for all your work 👏
One thing I couldn't find out in the channel: are you planning to update the backup app? Upstream has some important changes (e.g. using davx5 webdav).

Only after Android 13, and we don't trust the people who took over the project upstream so we can't simply take their changes unreviewed. In the long term we plan to replace it completely even if that means temporarily losing features.

Yeah, I heard there were some tensions between the projects.
As an open source developer, I understand how these things happen 😔
As an open source user, otoh, I just want all the shiny things developed anywhere of course 😇

In the case of Seedvault, the original dev is an old friend of mine. So if I can be of any help in resolving issues or questions, let me know.

When you say you know the original developer, who exactly do you mean by that?
The only resolution where we would be willing to continue using SeedVault would be the person who started it taking over the project and kicking out the abusive Calyx employees working on it now.
Either way, it needs substantial changes. Funding a new project from the ground up learning from the mistakes of the old one has the advantage of not needing to be concerned with backwards compatibility with a flawed approach or supporting legacy operating system versions.

I can make this simpler by setting a date when we'll remove SeedVault from GrapheneOS unless the abusive developers are removed from the project and it's put back on the path towards what it was supposed to be before those hostile people involved in attacks on us took it over.
