Update: Bose acknowledges that the returned product was delivered to their location on July 5, while also saying they haven't received it, and I'm just out $160 for an unknown period of time until they locate the package they definitely didn't lose.

Either a scammer or Bose support telling me to call an invalid number. Hard to say which.

Provide proper proof in initial filing and then wait ages knowing that at least you'll eventually get the money back. Banks usually side with the customer, not the merchant. Merchant may also just admit they're wrong and the chargeback fees are a lesson to handle it properly.
