Ok, I like Princess Bride. But here is the thing...
NO, I will not consume 100s of hrs of content to "connect"
I will connect over the subject the class is in though, that is why I am there, I like that subject.
Imagine if students told you to watch 100 hrs of anime to connect

This doesn't mean I won't watch something someone suggests if they know me.
I am just amazed that so many older generations think it is ok to tell us to consume all this content we have no desire to watch.
Yet they won't take the time to learn anything we like or grew up on

Most of it is rotted and unbelievably cringe for us to rewatch now. I can't imagine expecting to connect over it.

Seinfeld's content aged pretty well because the characters are supposed to be selfish, terrible people. Their behavior was supposed to be cringe. Long pauses for the studio audience to laugh are unbearable though, especially since it's not groundbreaking or nearly as funny now.
Curb Your Enthusiasm is still an ongoing television show doing it better in today's world. I don't get how people try to claim you couldn't do the same kinds of things today when Curb takes things so much further. It's supposed to often give you uneasy laughs from the satire.
