After dealing with Google that one time I so hate license related demands. Also I should have charged them $50k for doing their pointless homework...

TFW when you do something beyond what's reasonably called for "for exposure" and they actually didn't even want to give your project any exposure just make a buggy fork. 😡

They're used to doing everything internally and hiring people working on projects as employees. It's possible they could get approval to pay consulting fees to an open source developer but it's not part of their culture and I don't think most of their engineers would consider it.
I think docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAI is the only practical way to get money from them for an open source project. It has to be a project they use in production and you need to know how to make a compelling proposal based on how they use it and the kinds of things they consider useful.
