contrary to popular belief, Go has always had generics

golang code screenshot, with a switch/case on the output of fmt.Sprintf("%T", sshPublicKey).

the golang.org/x/crypto package has unexported types and that code (from kubernetes/kops) is trying to know which one it is: RSA or ED25519.

tbh this bothers me a lot less in C than the “go generics” python script that does string replacement on source code, because running the preprocessor is a normal part of building a C program,,,,
