My geography knowledge is almost entirely based on historical grand strategy games. Trivial to do 100% of Europe, Central/South America and Asia based on playing tons of Victoria / Hearts of Iron. Haven't stared at maps of current era Africa for countless hours so it's hopeless.
I wouldn't have been able to do the former soviet republics in central Asia but the positive side to recent imperialism is that I learned some more geography. Should try doing the one for cities in Ukraine...
