I can’t seem to find “over range” microwaves (combination of a microwave and a range hood) in Norway anymore… they used to sell them. I don’t know why they stopped, they are super practical for small kitchens. Seems ikea has them in the US, but not here?

A fair warning though, they are hard to install, and they don’t suck the air nearly as much as a dedicated range hood

Yeah, I strongly recommend abandoning this dream. I miss having air actually get exhausted outside. They designed these to look like they might work but they don't really. It takes more air from inside the microwave through some vents than underneath...

My experience has been that the fan doesn't work properly. The microwave also died and it's too expensive to get it fixed and near impossible to find a replacement (in Canada) especially with a fan that might actually have a hope of getting rid of a decent amount of steam, etc.
They also aren't long enough to properly cover the front elements even if they did work. The one here has an air intake along the top too (which works a lot better than the bottom) to try to grab the air up there. It doesn't really accomplish much. Likely makes it worse overall.
