This is fucking irresponsible. If you have problems with business using your free code for free, don't publish free code. By sabotaging your own widely used stuff, you hurt not only big business but anyone using it. This trains people not to update, 'coz stuff might break.

To run a business relying on the work of others is irresponsible. And update with no previous tests is even more irresponsable.

Let me guess, you've never run a business. Even running a lemonade stand relies on the work of others. That's how the society and the economy functions.

Yes, but the owner of the lemonade stand PAYS for what he needs. He doesn't expect free lemons. And, if he does, because he gets them from the tree, he can't blame the tree when the lemons season is over.

Developers can publish source available software with a non-commercial usage license and sell commercial licenses if they want to be paid for commercial usage. This is the permissive license they chose permitting commercial usage without paying anything: github.com/Marak/colors.j

The license also requires the licensee to agree to not having a warranty of any kind. The people using the software take full responsibility for it. They had the option to reach out to maintainers of their dependencies to establish contracts. Could be done through intermediaries.
