my apprentice came prepared with a list of bugs that irked them as a user and started filing them internally 😍

It's hard to handle bug reports from a large number of users who aren't developers. It's difficult for them to make a useful bug report. High quality reports get lost in the noise.
I don't bother filing bugs for most commercial software unless I can frame it as a security bug...
