so i bought a xiaomi pressure cooker, like a year ago, and it finally arrived, and it hasn't blown up yet. despite everything being in chinese, and thus my having to prodigiously use google translate, it is still way better than the instant pot i used to have

cool things: it doesn't have stupid "stew" or "soup" buttons, instead you just set the temperature (in celsius) and pressure level (in kpa) you want, and go

don't know if cool things: it supports bluetooth, but the app appears to be only available in china, so i cant try the app. allegedly the app lets you set as many presets as you want, and notifies your phone when its done.

I still haven't dealt with setting up the app for the humidifier that I bought so I can set the humidity to a more reasonable 40% instead of 50%.
Hate how everything has an app now. I don't think there's a way to configure the automatic mode humidity level without the app...

oh, you only need the app if you want to set up presets, or be pinged when cooking is done. the core functionality of the pressure cooker is available without an app, and its more functionality than an instant pot even without the app (instant pot doesn't let you set pressure)

well, i should restate that. instant pots let you set "high pressure" or "low pressure" but this lets you specify how much pressure you want in kPa
