One of the reasons twitter.com/DanielMicay/st is the way. I usually want to search for a prefix rather than a string anywhere in the command. Can't use Ctrl-R properly in most terminals without changing their configuration because the Ctrl-S binding to go backwards is already used.

Pretty sure the people who came up with the standard Ctrl-S binding in terminals were trolls. I'm well aware what it does but I still often think my terminal locked up because I accidentally pressed Ctrl-S. Need to remember to try Ctrl-Q to unfreeze it. Sometimes useful though.
