Having been paid serious $$$ via bitcoin for real work and hard product... it has it's uses. But yeah, not something I need my Twitter or *space to know/care or share about.

It's the only practical way for us to regularly distribute funding to GrapheneOS developers around the world. It currently costs around 15 cents (USD) per transaction of any size. That goes to miners and can essentially be considered an electricity bill.

Wise doesn't seem that bad but would take days instead of a couple hours, the fees would be 10x larger and based on experience we would have serious issues with payments being frozen or delayed. It's not usable without a fallback because people depend on it as their income.
