I think it's pathetic that people feel the need to promote themselves by spreading fabrications about GrapheneOS and myself. The whole routine of posting out-of-context screenshots and fabricating a whole fake story about them is getting old and people should stop falling for it.

A troll made a room mimicking my account name / logo and the GrapheneOS room name / logo / topic. They mass invited the entire ban list of the GrapheneOS rooms. Many of those people are incredibly toxic. A couple literally spammed child porn in our rooms thinking it'd kill them.

They also mass invited another 800 people who were not banned from our rooms. Their room ended up peaking at around 130 people. It inevitably became a dumpster fire shifting because shitposting and the usual bullying targeting me saying I'm schizo / paranoid / deranged / crazy.

I spent a long time talking to the troll who made the room and trying to reason with them. They weren't nearly as toxic as most of the active people they invited. Eventually, I got through to them and they decided they wanted to close the room. They did it in their own weird way.

They unpublished the room, wiped everything including room name / topic / logo and tried to make it invite only, crippled the permissions and then left it with no admins/moderators. Everyone was given ability to delete each others messages. I wiped what wasn't deleted by others.

I gave the people in the room the opportunity to send me a direct message and get unbanned in the GrapheneOS rooms if they were genuinely going to avoid breaking the rules or stirring up trouble. A dozen people have been unbanned. Of course, anyone could delete that message...

... so we had a whole fight there of repeatedly posting messages and deleting each other's messages. The troll must have had a lot of fun with the result of them 'closing' their room by sabotaging it this way. Anyway, only 130 ppl were there, most of them super toxic trolls...

Some of them feel like fabricating stories about what happened. A bunch of them have claimed that I somehow hacked the room and took it over as a moderator. No, I convinced the person who made it to 'close' it. I didn't socially engineer them. I talked to them for a couple hours.

What do you think you get when you invite the ENTIRE ban list of one of the largest public rooms on Matrix and don't apply any moderation? Can't pretend as if this was anything but incredibly malicious and toxic. Pattern of playing victim and pretending we're aggressors is lame.
