I have it in the terminal window titles but I still like having it in the prompt to easily see where I did something in the scrollback.
I also have the Git branch there after committing things to the wrong branch way too many times. I always use short names for those though.

I always have both my 27" 4k screens split down the middle with stacks of windows on either side. Means they're always quite wide so the long prompt doesn't bother me.
I rarely use workspaces other than exiling annoying windows to their own workspace like the terminal with mutt.

Minimal prompt does sound nice (especially on a laptop screen) but I need the computer to help me avoid mistakes or I'm going to break everything.
Similar reason for having these:
alias cp='cp -iv'
alias ln='ln -iv'
alias mv='mv -iv'
alias rm='rm -Iv'
