Ryzen 9 5950X is working out really well.
Ended up simply toggling on Performance Boost Overdrive 2, raising the max boost by 200MHz (5.1GHz) and slightly undervolting with Curve Optimizer.
It automatically boosts to ~4.6GHz for multi-core workloads and 5.1GHz for single core.

NH-D15. 16 core / 32 thread CPU is well within the scope of what it can handle well. Going to need to go with a different cooling solution for a near future Zen 3 Threadripper build.
