As a European, one can easily extrapolate, people from North-America tend to have no clue how non-English words are pronounced, period. Even in Canada, I was continuously baffled by the ways in which French (!) words were being butchered in this bi-lingual country 🤷‍♂️

It's just a gradual process of almost completely forgetting all of it since I have no use for it. It would be a lot more practical to have learned Chinese. I could probably still pick it up again quickly, and I probably still have a bunch of verb conjugation rules memorized...
