i like how twitter shows people you’ve blocked threads where you participate but just hide your individual posts. very safe design guys.

Don't find it useful beyond a way of communicating to the person you block that they aren't welcome.
Some of the people I've blocked regularly reply to replies to my tweets. In a way it helps them, because I would prefer to see what they're up to in my threads to refute attacks.

Blocking people also doesn't stop you replying to their tweets or quote tweeting them. Most of the people I've blocked were using the block feature to stealthily leave replies on my tweets which I couldn't see or reply to directly so I just countered that by blocking them back.
