They didn't get the chance to transition from monarchy to republic themselves so they don't have leftovers of either the monarchy or a revolution against them.
I think after running things into the ground and the country being annexed for 35 years they lost any actual relevance.

ROK is supposedly the successor to the Korean Empire but was a newly formed state with some treaties carried over. No trace of a monarchy.
