That's about how many users we had in #grapheneos on freenode, although a lot of those were Matrix puppets. It hovered between 1100 and 1200. Impressive how thoroughly they sabotaged their own network.
Worked out pretty nicely for us since it was advertising for the chat rooms.
The #grapheneos:grapheneos.org room we created in May is up to 2432 on Matrix alone. Not using puppet-based bridges anymore (too broken) so IRC and Telegram are separate.
libera only has around 40 and Telegram only has about 100 more users (400 total) since May.

That's just because we chose to largely migrate to Matrix rather than libera though. I'm sure we'd have at least 600 or so if we'd emphasized moving there rather than Matrix. It's nice having a self-hosted Matrix server and not dealing as much with bridges though.
