GrapheneOS has a team of developers. There are multiple full time developers, part time developers and contributors working on improving privacy and security on a fundamental level while also making that into a usable OS.

There are enough donations to GrapheneOS to fund multiple developers. Ideally, there would be far more donations and far more people contributing.
Hardest part isn't getting the money to fund developers but finding interested people with necessary skills/motivation to fund.

We take Bitcoin and Monero donations: grapheneos.org/donate. The project is entirely funded by donations, and while that may not seem like it would be adequate, it's enough to fund multiple developers.
