I don't have a good long-term memory for faces. It's perplexing when I run into someone I knew years ago who recognizes me. When I was in high school, I randomly ran into a few people I hadn't seen since I was around 6 to 8 years old and I have no clue how they recognized me.

Experiences like twitter.com/DanielMicay/st feel like encountering someone with supernatural abilities since I can't do that at all. Had a similar experience running into a woman who I used to be good friends with around 6 to 8. How could she possibly recognize me when I was ~22?

My awesome first grade teacher would have last seen me around age 7 and somehow recognized me walking along a street in my neighbourhood when I was about 16. No clue how she remembered one of students she knew for 1 year enough to recognize them esp. with glasses + wavy hair.
Also, I used to have totally straight hair which got fairly wavy (still ridiculously thick) when I was a teenager + I've only had glasses since 3rd grade. I wonder if they could still recognize me with beard + mustache. That probably does a lot to defeat those superpowers.
