GrapheneOS substantially improves privacy and security. These features don't hurt usability. grapheneos.org/features It now has grapheneos.org/usage#sandboxe providing a higher security and soon far higher compatibility way of running apps with hard dependencies on Play services.

It's very easy to install including from another phone using our web-based installer: grapheneos.org/install/web CLI install with verification of offline signify signatures is also available for technical users. What we don't do is bundle a bunch of third party apps with issues.

We're developing a first party app repository + client rather than bundling a flawed third party implementation. High quality open source apps can be offered there, including ones for obtaining more apps. Most software isn't aligned with our goals and bundling isn't an option.

We're no longer bundling F-Droid due to serious usability and security issues with it. It has fundamental design issues and we need a better approach for inclusion in the OS. Highly restrictive licensing forbidding using the code freely also doesn't fit with our goals at all.
